Take a Stitch Tuesday Week 29
Posted by sharonb under Challenges, Crazy quilting, Hand Embroidery, Needlework, Take a Stitch Tuesday
Everyone seemed to enjoy the easier Take a Stitch Tuesday Challenge stitch last week so this week we have another easy stitch but watch out next week!

I won’t tease as this week the challenge stitch is Arrowhead stitch.
The wonderful aspect of this stitch is that it can be arranged in so many different patterns.

The size of the stitches worked can be varied and rows or part rows can easily be overlapped.

You can embellish it easily and change threads easily.

It is easily incorporated into crazy quilting.

You can also work it in a contemporary manner. This is a fabric postcard worked as a sample for my joggles Sumptuous Surfaces which started last week.

Well that’s it for this week remember to swing by and leave a comment here so that people can follow the link and see what you have done and there is a Take a stitch Tuesday flickr group which you can browse

I finally started stitching the TAST stitches. I’ve been following along, I’ve been inspired — so I decided to start in the middle of the year and stitch both directions. So - I have the half chevron (might add beads later), the bullion (didn’t know I could do that) the sheaf stitch (in silk ribbon) and the arrowhead stitch.
Now - I need to work on my ‘homework’ for the Sumptuous Surfaces class.

Hi Sharon, I am still beavering away with wonky lines! My arrow stitch is up and I really like this one, all those lovely geometric shapes found in African and North West Indian designs.

Hi Sharon,
The Arrow Stitch was truly a fun stitch to work and I can see lots of possibilities. I think I’ll be using this one often. You can view my sample here:

I discovered that this stitch works especially well with bugle beads.
