Catching up on what is happening
Posted by sharonb under Blogs | Tags: Beading, Blogs, collage, Crazy quilting, mixed media, Sewing, silk ribbon embroidery, SRE |First up for a great way to start the day in a fit of giggles check out the video bloopers on Melissa’s blog Honey Bees Bliss. I was giggling along with them within seconds
Once you have got the giggles under control make a cuppa and settle down for a bit of browse. Meggiecat is a blog that dipped off the scene for a little while but it’s back. Her regular posting has kept me busy back reading and catching up. Since easter is just around the corner I thought these bunny boxes were very timely.
I found these free patterns of stitching cards with thanks via Needle’nThread
Also a recent discovery is Artful Ties a blog kept by Barb Lawrence who focuses on “Making art from men’s neckties”. This was found with thanks via Art for Housewives
I am not sure how many readers are following Virginia Spiegel’s Collage mania, and the reverse auction but its worth checking out her blog for eyecandy alone.
Also Marie Alton dropped me an email to let me know about her blog sredeluxe which covers silk ribbon, crazy quilting and beading

Hi, Sharon!
Thanks for the mention - the stitching cards are really fun, and, after playing around with patterns for a bit, I found out that it’s easy to modify them, or just to make up your own (which is a lot more personal!)
One other thing I discovered: KIDS LOVE THEM. So, anyone teaching kids to embroider - these make a great project!

Looking at the Embroidered cards reminded me of Kalpakkam and my schooldays;we made such cards for our craft class. In Kalpakkam, there was/is(?)an NGO which made such cards.the Officer’s wives volunteered to make such cards, which was sold at local exhibitions.

Hi Sharon,
I think I need 100 more hours in each day so I have time to read all the amazing stuff you post (and get lost in all the other sites you post links to) … and then another 100 hours to do all the stuff I am inspred to make - lol
(and another 100 hours to catch up and do something for my January and Febuary TIF challenge items …
so why am I wasting time doing this “tagging” stuff? lol
Yes - you are tagged … details at http://aykayem.blogspot.com/2008/03/7-weird-things-about-one-weird-person.html
btw, I won’t be offended if you don’t have the time/inclination to carry it on/do anything about it - after all I got tagged 3 weeks ago and I am only getting around to doing this now! LOL
