Patricia of Birds Nest on the Ground dropped me an email to draw attention to her blog. I am very pleased she did as Patricia is interested in quilting and embroidery. She describes herself as “obsessive about fabrics, buttons, trims, and old photos. I am a hunter/gatherer who loves flea markets”. Just my sort of person I thought to myself and checked it out
If anyone else has a blog that relates to their activities in an area of textiles leave a comment with the URL and let me and everyone know about it, as if you are new to blogging it is sometimes hard to break into the circle and let people know you are there. So if your blog is on topic put your hand up and wave I would love to know you are out there and I am sure readers would too. Now don’t be a stranger….

Hi Sharon,
It’s Susan from Plays with Needles. I’ve just returned to the blogging world after a long hiatus. My Mom was very sick with leukemia and we nursed her at home. She just passed away in March. I am slowly returning to those things which I love and provide me comfort. My blog is back on track and you can expect to see more embroidery there. I have also signed up for your new Joggles Journal class and I’m looking forward to it. I have so enjoyed your other classes. I’m sorry your trip to the STates didn’t work out…the Baltimore group was eager to have you here…maybe another time. Anyway, stop by online even if you can’t come in person…Susan

Hello Sharon, Thanks for the opportunity to tell you of our new blogs. Mine is http://www.cathyscrazybydesign.blogspot.com. I’m an avid crazy quilter who’s been at it for 8 years. I even had a block published (beginners luck?) in the 2002 Quilting Arts Calendar (under my previous married name of Cathy Flox). I love embroidery, silk ribbon embroidery and ribbonwork, printing on silk, dyeing laces, fabrics of all kinds …. in short, anything that “enables” my CQ habit. But I also love gardening and decorating, which I believe to be very common and compatible habits for CQ’ers.
Hugs from the Salt Lake Valley in Utah,
Cathy

Hello world!
I have been blogging for almost two years now, since I lived so far away from the boys’ grandparents… Recently my Mom complained that there were too many crafts and not enough babies on my personal blog, so I started a new one, Mama’s Getting Crafty and update it with all the crafts I work on as I complete them, about 3-4 times a month. It’s not a very active blog, but I sure like bragging about the stuff I make! ;P
This is also where I post about my Take It Further challenge pieces.
Cheers!
Jennifer

You could have a look at mine, if you like.=) Not much going on at the moment, (life gets in the way at times, doesn’t it), and probably not as impressive as some that you’ve seen, but there’s hope somewhere!!!=)
Wish I had time to join in the TIf, but maybe next year if there’s something else going on like that.

Hi, I’m a lampshade maker in the UK using the technique of reverse applique, but working with plant-fibre paper in the place of fabric. I studied creative design and embroidery and my work evolved from experimentation with various materials (from tea bags to dishcloths!). I too am a great hoarder of buttons, beads, ribbons and wires, but these are more often raided by my seven-year-old boys who also love doing creative things.

I am rather new to blogging but my Daughter, Amy of In the Fold, keeps encouraging me to share my work.

My blog, http://stitchingbuddha.wordpress.com, lies at the intersection of Textile and Tibetan art. I work in an rare, traditional applique form unique to the Tibetan Buddhist world. But I’m also drawing new methods from all you quilters and surface designers out there. In my blog and in my life, I try to pull it all together to create beautiful and inspiring images — sometimes more successfully than others. Please have a look.

Sharon, your blog and stitch dictionary is such an inspiration to me! I have been blogging for awhile about my knitting, rubber stamping, cross stitching, baking and life in general. I have made one attempt so far at crazy quilting, and I am eager to try some more. I also recently bought some supplies to try my hand at silk ribbon embroidery. With no local classes or decent fabric shops, I rely on the Internet. I have never been disappointed.

Hi Sharon thanks for the invite. I’ve been blogging for nearly a year now, with a focus on shibori techniques, hand dyeing, and making things from the results. I’ve been lovin’ the blogging alphabet you have been posting! its introducing me to so many new sites, ideas and practitioners. My reliance on the internet is for the community I’ve found here it keeps me going!

Hi! I’ve been blogging for years, but just recently really narrowed down my focus onto spinning, dyeing and finding (and talking to!) local fiber farmers.
Thanks,
Tara

The CQ tumbling block design is wonderful. I have never seen CQ pieced in that way. Thanks for sharing. I wanted to share a new tutorial on my blog for those wanting to learn a simple method on adding a purse clasp with beads.I get several inquiries so decided to share with anyone interested.

I too want to thank you Sharon. I started a blog just so I could participate in the TIF projects. I have learned so much and yet so little…there is a vast world out there. My greatest joy in blogging is all the inspiration to be found and enjoyed…My biggest frustration is not enough time.
Thank you Sharon for introducing me to a whole new world to explore.

Hi Sharon,
Thank you for a wonderful blog that has me riveted nearly every day. Thanks also for the opportunity to let people know about my little blogging enterprise. I am a needlework designer living in the UK, and I use my website and blog to share my love of needlecrafts with anyone that cares to visit. I have recently found crazy quilting and love to drool over the eye candy here.
Oh the blog is at http://www.needlework-tips-and-techniques.com/carols-needlework-blog.html
Thanks again and keep up the good work. Love the sampler!
Regards,
Carol Leather

I found your site via the V&A website. I’ve been blogging for just a year. Besides the day-to-day chat, I try to feature things I make with wool (needlefelting, dollmaking, wet felting) Thanks for the invitation to leave a comment! Warmest regards, Mary Ellen
